My research looks at how digital technology and data can support public health and health services. My PhD in Health Data Science, completed at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, focused on analysing data from cancer screening programmes.

Current Research Focus
PhD in Health Data Science
Thesis: “Big Data analysis techniques applied to cancer screening programs”, completed at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. The work brings together Public Health, Business Intelligence, Big Data and Process Mining to analyse patient pathways in colorectal cancer screening.
Digital Health Implementation
Research on digital health implementation in Portuguese health services, including impact measurement, adoption and system integration.
WHO/Europe Consultation
Contribution to WHO/Europe initiatives on digital health policy and implementation in European health systems.

Research Collaboration
I consider research collaborations when the technical scope, institutional setting and data governance are clear. Relevant areas include:

- Interdisciplinary projects combining clinical expertise with data science
- Policy research on digital health regulation and governance
These are examples rather than a closed list. A useful proposal should explain the question, practical value, partners and data-governance arrangements.
